It’s no secret young kids demand immense amounts of energy. Sitting for more than 30 minutes is nearly impossible. Random bursts of energy explode out of their little bodies. While driving, they will start yelling for no good reason. Not to mention the pushing, laughing, dancing, falling, running, hitting, smashing, crashing, and the endless other gerunds you can imagine.
The standard advice usually in these situations is to have more patience. But how?
How we have patience in the face of these little humans going off the rails.
Perhaps this tool will help: Grandpa’s Time Machine-
Imagine you are 80 years old. But really imagine you have aged to 80 years old. Close your eyes if needed.
Now imagine before you is a time machine that will take you to your past. But you can only travel back in time to this present moment right now with these kids who are out of control. And in 10 minutes, you will need to travel back to your 80 year old self. You only get these 10 minutes to be with your kids at this age.
Now how do you feel now about these out of control kids? Do you have more patience and love?
